Ingredients
- 1/2 pkg. green tomatoes (4 quart. grnd)
- 1 head cabbage (use sm. head)
- 12 sm. onions
- 10 peppers, cored and seeded
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon celery seed
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 tbsp. cinnamon
- 1 tbsp. allspice
- 1 tbsp. mustard seed
- 1 quart. vinegar
- 5 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. salt
Directions
- Grind tomatoes and drain in colander. Grind cabbage, onions and peppers. Combine all ingredients and let stand overnight. Next day, pack in warm sterilized jars and seal at once.
- HINTS: This makes about 8 qts. Store as cold as possible, but does not need refrigeration. Grind with standard hand meat grinder. Excellent with warm dogs. Good with baked beans.
