Andrea, can't wait to try your recipes. I like the flavours of Guadalajara. Do you eat black beans or pinto beans? We grew up eating Pinto.
Do you know what settlers had the most impact on food in Guadalajara besides the Spanish? I will try Las Canicas de nuez y los nidos de pajaro after coming back from a class, this weekend.
Si hablo Español. Yo nací y crecí en Tijuana. La comida de Tijuana representa una mezcla de la comida de todo Mexico. . siendo una ciudad fronteriza. Los tacos de puesto son fabulosos!

About me
I love traveling around the world, tasting local cuisine. I delight figuring out local food traditions vs. flavors brought in from other parts of the world that, in time, have become part of the local tradition.

- June 26, 2008Hey Rocio! My mother was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco and my father was born in Hermosillo, Sonora. My aunt is actually from Culiacan, and she is proud of it! Being that my parents are from two geographical extremes of a country makes the regional food distinctly different. It really is true! The influence various settlers had on the food and the different ingredients that were available is distinct. I will be putting up some more recipes, and hopefully you can try them up and let me know what you think. Las canicas de nuez y los nidos de pajaro, those are are die for! If you get a chance try them! Si habla espanol? Tengo pensado poner unas recetitas en espanol tambien. :)
