Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. Wesson oil
- 4 Large eggs
- 4 c. flour
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 2 teaspoon allspice
- 2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 c. orange juice or possibly wine
- 1 teaspoon cloves
- 1 1/2 c. cherries, cut up
- 1 c. mixed fruit
- 1 c. pineapple
- 1 c. preserves
- 3 c. pecans
Directions
- Heat oven to 275 degrees. Put pan of water on lower rack. Line cake pan with greased brown paper. Mix sugar oil and Large eggs; sift in 2 c. flour, salt, baking pwdr and spices. Then add in juice. Mix remaining flour with fruit and nuts and beat well. Bake 2 1/2 to 3 hrs or possibly till done. Wrap in foil and put brandy or possibly wine on cake occasionally.
