Who's ready for Mardi Gras?!
My blog
About me
I grew up in New Orleans and am now living in the heart of Cajun country. After living outside of LA for about a dozen years, I have learned not to take the food and culture for granted. I have a passion for sharing both with anyone I meet.
Cooking Influences
My cooking influences...I don't think I can point to specific chefs and say "yes, that's it!" (Although I am a fan of food columnist, cookbook author, and "Queen of Cajun Cooking," Marcelle Bienvenu.)
My influences come from my surroundings: where I live and where I have lived, what I grow and catch, meals from my childhood, and, naturally, family and friends.

- June 16, 2012I love your blog and writing style. Was looking for a marinade for gator filets and it must be really popular because it was at the top of the page! I ended up getting recipes for the marinade, gumbo, stock and roux. Trying to spoil the guys with a Louisiana/Texas Father's Day dinner tomorrow before the game. We pretty much agree that Troy is hot! Anyways, thank you for some fine writing and great cooking.
- May 14, 2011I was visiting your blog and saw that you are on CES as well. I love the herb and garden articles. Following you here as well..
- May 11, 2011I look forward to following you and learning. We have a house at Gulf Shores, AL and love to go down and cook fresh shrimp. I am also involved with an annual Mardi Gras Party to raise money for our Historical Preservation Commission; which gives me another need for Cajun recipes.

- January 15, 2011The late Chef Austin Leslie was dear to both my heart and stomach. We met him on our honeymoon in 1987 and he shared some of his personal recipes with me, memories I treasure. I look forward to contributing to some awesome Creole cooking inspired by Chef Austin and tried successfully on hundreds of happy diners over the years. On a different note and different NO perspective, John Besh is a phenominal chef and I often look to his kitchen for inspiration. So happy to have found this site and to share these true culinary gems with you!
