About me
Besides baking and cooking for my family and friends, I love to enter baking and cooking contests. This has culminated in my being chosen as a finalist in the 44th Pillsbury Bake-Off that was held in Orlando, Florida on April 12, 2010! While the actual event was very exciting, the best part of the Bake-Off was having the opportunity to meet other enthusiastic and fantastic cooks----what a great group of people!
Cooking Influences
My father was a Dutch baker, so I like to try to duplicate some of his specialties. I've been successful with a few things, but for the most part, my cooking influence is Midwestern--cookies, bars, pies---perhaps I should say my cooking influence is desserts! I do like to exeriment depending on which contest I might be working on. Currently, I am sweet potato obsessed.
