Living in Montreal is a close second to experiencing 'la joie de vivre' as you are now doing in France.
Katie...How great are you for being so true to sticking with the cookbooks that inspire you. My collection of books, is huge as well. Unfortunately, I still have a difficult time following the recipes...I always go back to concocting my own ;o) I need to do better with the first part.
Lovely for you to have selected my place on CES.
This has encouraged me to get to know more about what's going on in your kitchen too.
Ciao for now and flavourful wishes,
Claudia

About me
I have too many cook books (according to mon mari). 15 years ago I decided to cook something different every night for a year.... I can't seem to stop....
We live in France, are restoring an old French farm house and learning all country French cooking. We eat local, seasonal, fresh foods - all the new buzz words... But, why bother with prepackaged when 'from scratch' is so easy?

- May 1, 2012Montreal is a lovely city. As to the cook books - they're kind of a starting point and one never knows what's going to happen next LOL

- March 18, 2011Ah.... A fellow Mid-Westerner! I think most Mediterranean food IS comfort food.... Maybe the need for that comes from growing up in the frozen north. I much prefer the climate (and the food) of the French countryside.... Glad to connect... Cheers, Katie
- March 17, 2011Chef Katie - I am delighted that you found something of interest in my recipes. I am digging through yours and am finding we have very much gastronomically in common! I look forward to exchanging ideas and reviews in the time to come and am very glad to have found a "French Connection" on this site. This is a great place to vent the passions we have for cooking. best regards, Amos
