1 1/2 c. sugar
2 large eggs, beaten
4 T cocoa
4 T warm coffee
1 teaspoon red food coloring
2 c. cake flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

Cream shortening and sugar. Add in beaten large eggs. Mix cocoa, coffee, red coloring and vanilla and add in to creamed mix. Add in dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk. Bake in greased and lightly floured layer pans 30 to 35 min in 350 degree oven.
