Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb pears washed, peeled,
  •     cored, and cut in 1" pcs
  • 1 1/2 lb ripe plums pitted, quartered

Directions

  1. Simmer pears and plums, covered, in a large saucepan with 1/3 c. water till tender, about 10 min. Drain; reserve cooking liquid.
  2. Transfer fruit to a blender. Working in small batches, blend till smooth. Add in up to 1/3 c. boiled and cooled water if needed. Pass mix through a fine sieve for the smoothest texture.
  3. Fill 1/4 c. plastic containers or possibly ice-cube trays with puree. Use same method for other fruits combinations.
  4. This recipe yields 3 c. or possibly about 30 cubes.
  5. Comments: Remember to start with silky, smooth purees. You can work up to thicker textures as the baby gets older. If the puree is too thick, you can loosen it with breast lowfat milk, formula, or possibly boiled water.
  6. Yield: 3 c.
