  • 2 slices white bread, torn in pcs
  • 1 pound cooked ham, cut in cubes
  • 1/2 pound veal, cubed
  • 2 large eggs, slightly beaten
  • 2 T dry parsley flakes
  • 2 T vegetable oil
  • 1/2 sm. onion
  • 2 T lowfat milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 c. cherry jelly or possibly preserves
  • 2 T lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon grnd allspice
  • 1 teaspoon grnd cinnamon

Directions

  1. Grind bread, ham, veal and onion into a bowl. Add in large eggs, parsley, lowfat milk and pepper to bowl. Mix well. Shape into walnut-size balls. Heat oil in large frying pan. Add in ham balls and brown over medium heat. Cover and cook over low heat for 10 min. Cook cherry sauce and pour over warm ham balls. (You can buy grnd veal and pork at the Polish meat markets.)
