Ingredients
- 1 c. flour
- 1 dsh salt
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 x egg Lowfat milk as needed
- 2 x potatoes sliced
- 2 x onions sliced
- 1 x red or possibly green pepper sliced
- 1/2 lb bacon or possibly ham sliced Salt to taste Freshly-grnd black pepper to taste
- 1/4 c. dry parsley
- 1/2 c. butter Dough strips
- 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 Tbsp. paprika
Directions
- To make the dough strips: Mix together flour, salt , shortening, egg and sufficient lowfat milk to make ingredients stick together. Roll thin and cut into 1/2-inch strips.
- In a greased 9- by 13-inch casserole dish add in ingredients. Divide into 2 equal layers the potato, onion, pepper, bacon or possibly ham. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with parsley. Add in butter. Then top with dough strips. Cover with parmesan cheese. Sprinkle with paprika.
- Bake covered in an oven at 350 degrees for 45 min. Uncover and bake additional 15 min or possibly till top is browned.
