With 6 boys and 2 girls my mom felt it very important for everyone to know how to cook sew and generally take care of them self’s. Yes I sew too. I remember getting up on Saturday and Sunday mornings looking at the back of packages for breakfast recipes. I would then make it even if I was lacking ingredients I would substitute it with what I had. When I was about 12 I got to cook the entire meal for everyone. Well it was BBQ chicken potato salad. I even made the BBQ sauce. Of course mom helped. That was the day I knew I was going to be a chef. I went on to get a degree in culinary arts and Computers. Worked mostly at Country Clubs. I currently work for Walmart as a Senior Systems Administrator.
Food that influences me Mediterranean, Japanese, Chinese and what I call American Coastal cuisine. The oysters and salmon in Seattle the crabs in San Francisco lobster in New England. Fresh food I really don’t understand restaurants that don’t get that point.
Now who influenced me? That would be my Mom the best cook I ever knew. Everything from home canning to restaurant quality meals she could do it all. She even did wedding cakes.
