Easy tip: serve this sauce with pasta, chicken, grilled meat or fish. You can make a large amount, divide it into smaller quantities. and keep in the freezer.
Ingredients
- 50 g butter
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 tbs wine vinegar
- 150 ml water
- 1 tbs mustard
- 2 tbs demerara sugar
- A thick slice of lemon
- A pinch of cayenne pepper
- 2 tbs Worcestershire sauce
- 6 tbs tomato ketchup
- 2 tbs tomato puree
- ¼ tsp ground pepper

Stir in vinegar, water, mustard, sugar, lemon, and cayenne. Bring to the boil, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
