Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix dry ingredients together. Rub in butter with knife. Make a well in center and gradually fold in just sufficient buttermilk to make a soft but hard dough. Shape into a ball.
  2. Knead on a floured surface 2-3 min till dough is smooth. Form into a round loaf and with floured knife make a cross through center of bread. Place on a buttered and floured baking sheet.
  3. Bake at 375 degrees for 40-50 min.
