Directions

  1. 1. Cream 1/2 cup butter with sugar till mix is smooth. Add in oil and large eggs and beat well. Add in flour and salt alternately with half and half to mix.2. Dissolve cocoa, 1 tbsp butter and baking soda in boiling water. Add in cocoa mix to cake batter. Stir in vanilla.
  2. 3. Pour batter into 2 greased 8" cake pans. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven till cake tests done, about 25 min.
  3. 4. When cake is cool, frost with frosting. Yield: 1 (8") layer cake.
  4. 1. Heat chocolate.2. Dissolve sugar in water; blend in melted chocolate. Set mix aside to cool.
  5. 3. Cream butter till fluffy. Beat egg yolks into butter. Add in chocolate-sugar mix and beat well.
