Ingredients
- 2 T orange marmalade
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 (8 ounce) pkg. sliced ham
- 1 (8 ounce) loaf party rye bread slices
- 1/2 (8 ounce) pkg. sliced Swiss cheese
- 2 T butter
- 1/4 c. lowfat milk
- 1 egg
Directions
- About 40 min before serving: In cup, stir marmalade and mustard till well mixed; set aside. Cut ham slices to fit on half of the bread slices; cut cheese slices to arrange on top of ham; then top with a dollop of marmalade mix and another bread slice.Preheat oven to 450 degrees. In 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 inch jelly roll pan, heat butter; remove pan from oven. In pie plate with fork, beat lowfat milk and egg till well mixed. Dip sandwiches, one at a time, into egg mix to coat on all sides. Place sandwiches, in one layer, in jelly roll pan.
- Bake sandwiches till golden on both sides, about 20 min, turning once. Cut each sandwich in half. Serve hot.
