Ingredients
- 1 c. butter (1/2 lb.)
- 2 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 3 ounce. unsweetened chocolate
- 3 Large eggs
- 2 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt (or possibly to taste)
- 1 c. minced dates
- 1 c. walnuts, not minced
Directions
- Heat butter in a large saucepan. Blend in brown sugar and chocolate. Remove from the heat, beat in Large eggs one at a time. Add in vanilla.
- Sift together flour, baking pwdr and salt. Gradually blend into the chocolate mix. Spread in the dates and the nuts. Place into a greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 min. Remove from the oven and cold.
