Ingredients
- 3/4 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp grnd red pepper
- 1 Tbsp. black pepper (1-2)
- 1/4 tsp mace
- 1 ounce envelope chili seasoning
- 1 c. vinegar
- 2 tsp dry mustard
- 1/4 c. molasses
- 1 tsp grnd ginger
- 1/4 c. water
- 1/2 tsp allspice
- 32 ounce ketchup
Directions
- In saucepan, combine brown sugar, freshly grnd black pepper, chili seasoning, dry mustard, ginger, allspice, red pepper and mace; mix well. Add in vinegar, molasses and water, stirring till blended. Stir in ketchup. Bring to boil, stirring constantly; reduce heat. Simmer, covered, over low heat for 30 min, stirring occasionally. Use as finishing and table sauce for beef, pork and chicken or possibly add in to your favorite meat loaf recipe. May store sauce in refrigerator for several weeks. (May add in 1-3 tsp. liquid smoke.)
