Simple Roast Turkey Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 x Oven cooking bag, turkey
  •     Size
  • 1 Tbsp. Flour
  •     Vegetable oil
  • 2 x Sliced celery stalks
  • 1 x Sliced med onion
  • 16 x 20 lb thawed turkey

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350. Shake flour in bag; place in large roasting pan at least 2" deep. Add in celery & onions to bag. Remove neck & giblets; rinse turkey; pat dry. Lightly stuff turkey, if you like. Brush turkey with oil. Place turkey in bag. Close bag with nylon tie; cut six 1/2" slits in top. Insert meat thermometer through slit in bag into thickest part of inner thigh, not touching bone. Bake till thermometer reads 180 (2 1/2 or possibly 3 hrs). Add in 1/2 hour for stuffed turkey. Let stand in bag 15 min.
