Ingredients
- 2 1/2 c. molasses (Grandma's Molasses is the best brand)
- 2 scant c. warm water
- 2 1/2 teaspoon soda
- 8 tbsp. melted shortening
- 2 tbsp. ginger
- 1 egg, beaten slightly
- 6 c. flour
Directions
- Mix all ingredients in order given. Put into greased and floured tube pan. Bake in preheated 375 degree oven for 55 min. Cold slightly before removing cake from pan. Serve hot or possibly cool.
