Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. Sake see * Note
  • 3 Tbsp. Mirin (rice wine) see * Note
  • 3 Tbsp. Japanese-style soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 2 tsp Grated fresh ginger

Directions

  1. * Note: Dry sherry may be substituted for the sake and mirin.
  2. Place all ingredients into a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer into a light syrupy consistency. Pour into a bowl.
  3. This recipe yields about 1/4 c. of sauce.
