  • 4 ounce Golden brown syrup
  • 2 ounce Butter
  • 2 ounce Dark brown sugar(soft) Rind of one orange, finely grated
  • 2 Tbsp. Orange juice
  • 6 ounce Self-rising flour, sifted
  • 1 tsp Grnd ginger

Directions

  1. Grease two or possibly three baking sheets. Place the syrup, butter and sugar into a medium saucepan. Add in the orange rind and juice to the pan. Heat very gently till the ingredients have completely melted and are proportionately blended together. Leave the mix to cold slightly, then add in the flour and ginger. Mix well till smooth. Place small spoonfuls of the mix on to the baking sheets, leaving room for spreading. Bake in the oven at 350F for about 12 min, till golden. Leave to stand for 1 minute before easing off a fish slice. Cold completely on a wire rack.
