Deep Fried Halibut Recipe

Ingredients

  • 6 piece fresh halibut - (2 ounce ea)
  • 6 c. vegetable oil
  • 4 c. Krusteaz tempura flour
  • 1 can non-alcoholic beer
  • 1 c. mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped dill pickle or possibly dill relish
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped onion
  • 1 Tbsp. minced fresh parsley
  • 1 Tbsp. minced capers
  • 2 Tbsp. caper juice Juice of 1/2 medium lemon
  • 1/4 tsp freshly-grnd white pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 ounce buttermilk

Directions

  1. In a stock pot or possibly electric fryer, heat oil till it is at 350 degrees.
  2. Mix 2 c. of the tempura flour with 12 ounces of non-alcoholic beer till smooth. Lightly dredge halibut in remaining (dry) tempura flour, then dip in tempura batter. Place halibut in warm oil and cook for approximately two mminutes per side, or possibly till golden. Serve with Market Street tartar sauce.
  3. Market Street Tartar Sauce: Combine all of the above ingredients and chill 30 min before serving.
  4. This recipe yields 2 servings.
