Ingredients

  • 1 pound pork or possibly turkey sausage, browned and liquid removed
  • 11 slices of white bread, trimmed (frzn bread is easier to spread)
  • 2 jars Kraft Old English cheese spread
  • 5 large eggs, slightly beaten
  • 3 c. lowfat milk
  • Healthy pinch salt (optional)

Directions

  1. Spread cheese on both sides of each slice of bread. Arrange to fill casserole evenly by cutting some slices in halves or possibly fourths. Sprinkle browned sausage between slices. Mix large eggs and lowfat milk and a pinch of salt (depending on how salty sausage is) together and pour over all. Cover casserole and chill at least overnight. To bake, set casserole in pan of hot water and bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hrs with casserole uncovered, or possibly till it is set in the middle. Good for brunch or possibly luncheon.
