Ingredients
- 1 - 1 1/2 lbs. hamburger
- 1 tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tbsp. chopped green onion
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Fresh grnd pepper
- Crushed pineapple, 14 1/2 ounce. can
- 16 ounce. can tomatoes
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- 2 tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tbsp. vinegar
Directions
- Mix beef, soy sauce, onion, salt and pepper together with pineapple not used to make sauce. Form 6 patties from mix. Broil till done. Serve with sauce. Serves 6.
- Sauce: Drain tomatoes, reserve 1/2 c. juice. Drain pineapple, reserve 1/4 c. juice. Fold in pan, brown sugar, cornstarch, salt and ginger. Add in reserved tomato and pineapple juice and vinegar. Stir constantly on low heat till thickened. Add in coarsely minced tomatoes and 1/2 c. crushed pineapple. Heat thoroughly.
