Directions

  1. Sift flour, salt, bicarbonate of soda, cream of tartar together.
  2. Rub in butter till mix looks like bread crumbs.
  3. Dissolve sugar in lowfat milk, stir into flour/butter mix.
  4. Form into stiff dough.
  5. Roll out to a thickness of 1/4 inch.
  6. Cut in squares; prick all over.
  7. Bake in oven at 350 F (180 C) for 20 min.
  8. Makes about 10 biscuits.
  9. NOTES : A popular biscuit, as the Scots call cookies, to go with a c. of tea.
