Love to cook and try out new recipes
Born and raised in Ohio and moved down south in my twenties. I love Florida and being able to cook outside all year long. Luckily my husband shares my passion for cooking and doesn't mind me trying out new recipes on a weekly basis. I have two children both grown and in college and they always love coming home to a good home cooked meal. My thoughts on cookbooks I've never met a cookbook I didn't like ! The way I see it is if you can get one really fantastic recipe from a cookbook it was well worth the purchase for that one recipe.
Cooking influences definitely family ! My father was huge in Polish traditions my mother is Polish as well so Easter time was a huge cooking extravaganza with home made pierogis , Easter Bread , fresh kielbasa and kraut and stuffed cabbages. My mother always made me feel the different doughs so I knew the textures by touch not just ingredients , I had to know the thickness of the dough when rolling out pierogis and when making stuffed cabbages remembering to take out the veins in the cabbage and not over stuffing them with the meat and rice mixture. That's where my love of cooking started and now with the easy access of the food network you get to see so many different techniques and and combinations of flavors . Restaurants also influence me if I have something that is so wonderful in the next couple of days I will try and recreate it while the flavors and taste are still fresh in my mind. Last but not least and most importantly my friends we all love to cook and share recipes.
