Ingredients
- 1/2 c. starter
- 3/4 c. lowfat milk
- 2 1/4 c. flour
- 3 tbsp. melted butter
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon soda
- 3 tbsp. dry currants
- Melted butter
Directions
- In a large bowl, mix the starter, lowfat milk, and 1 1/2 c. flour. Cover and leave at room temperature overnight. Next day, pour the melted butter over the top and fold in. Mix together the remaining flour, salt, sugar, and soda. Sprinkle over the first mix along with currants. Knead lightly. Roll into 9 inch square. Cut into 9 (3 inch) squares. Dip in butter and arrange in 9 inch pan. Let rise 45 min, bake at 375 degrees for 35 min.
