Ingredients

  • 1 c. Butter
  • 2 c. Granulated sugar
  • 3 x Large eggs
  • 1/2 c. Buttermilk
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  •     Sufficient flour (approximately 2 to 4 c.)
  •     Flavor to taste with lemon, vanilla or possibly spices

Directions

  1. Blend butter and sugar till creamy. Add in Large eggs, one at a time, beating after each. Add in buttermilk, baking soda, flavoring and sufficient flour to create a soft dough. Refrigeratedough before rolling 1/4-inch thick and cut. Bake in 350 degree oven till slightly browned.
  2. I realize this is a very vague recipe, but it is also a very old recipe.
  3. Give it a try, you might be surprised at the results.
