Directions

  1. Make the tea by adding the tea leaves to boiling water.
  2. Drop in the Holy basil and remove from the heat.
  3. Allow to cold then strain.
  4. Mix the tea infusion sugar and lemon juice Serve in tall glasses over lots of crushed ice.
  5. Garnish with lemon slices and a fresh Holy basil leaf if available.
  6. Here is an unusual drink to enjoy on balmy summer evenings. Served in a tall frosted glass over nibs of crushed ice this makes a really special change from the more common iced tea. Iced basil tea tastes even better with fresh Holy basil leaves but the dry ones are definitely more handy.
