  • 4 x Fish steaks or possibly pcs of fillet
  • 2 Tbsp. Butter
  • 2 Tbsp. Light vegetable oil Salt to taste Freshly-grnd black pepper to taste Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1 c. Lowfat sour cream

Directions

  1. Fry the fish very briefly in a sizzling mix of butter and oil for 2 min on either side, turning the pcs over once. Season with salt and pepper and arrange in a baking dish. Pour the lemon juice and lowfat sour cream over them and bake for 15 min in a preheated 400 degree oven.
  2. This recipe yields 4 servings.
  3. Comments:This recipe was for pike or possibly perch and also for salt herring, but white salt-water fish like halibut, haddock, and cod are used today.
