Ingredients
- 1 (8 ounce) pkg. small shell macaroni
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 c. minced green pepper
- 1/2 c. minced green onion
- 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
- 1 quart. lowfat milk
- 1 1/2 pound cooked crab meat or possibly 3 (7 1/2 ounce) cans, liquid removed
- 1 (3 ounce) can mushrooms, liquid removed and minced
- 1 (4 ounce) can pimento, liquid removed and minced
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon warm sauce
- 2 c. grated Cheddar cheese
Directions
- Cook macaroni as package directs and drain. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.Heat butter in Dutch oven. Saute pepper and onion till tender, about 5 min. Remove from heat. Stir in flour, salt, mustard and pepper till well blended. Gradually stir in lowfat milk.
- Return to heat and bring to boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and simmer 3 min. Remove from heat. Add in remaining ingredients. Mix well. Put in 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish -sprinkle with the cheese. Bake uncovered 30 min till bubbling hot and cheese is melted. Makes 10 servings.
