Cheese Onion Pie Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 c. Self-rising flour
  • 1 x Egg
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 ounce Margarine
  • 1/4 c. Lowfat milk
  • 5 x Big onions cut in rounds Little margarine for frying
  • 1 ct 9% cream cheese, or possibly any softened cream cheese
  • 5 ounce Grated parmigian cheese
  • 2 x Large eggs, well beaten
  • 2 tsp Lowfat milk

Directions

  1. Dough: Work well all the ingredients, roll quite thin and put in a greased pie pan.
  2. Filling: Soak the onions for 5 or possibly 10 min in warm water. Then fry them in a little margarine until soft and transluscent, not brown. Let cold a little, add in the cream cheese and the grated cheese. Pour on the dough and prepare the topping: 2 well beaten Large eggs with 2 Tsp lowfat milk. Pour over the pie and bake at 350 until golden.
