About me
I'm an American ex-pat living in Israel. What I love to do best is cook, homebrew, read, and write.
I've lived in Venezuela and in Brazil, so what with all this traveling, I speak English, Spanish, Portuguese and Hebrew.
Things I do every day: drink 1 cup of strong coffee, have a telephone business conference, write essays and posts for my own blog and others'.
Cooking Influences
My Nicaraguan mother reproduced the dishes she ate at home 80 years ago, and I learned from her. Rice and beans, picadillo, perfectly roasted chicken...
Another major influence has been the books of Elizabeth David and Claudia Roden.
And living in the Middle East has influenced my palate and menus greatly.
