Sos (Military Style Creamed Beef) Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. grnd beef
  • 1 medium onion, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Crisco or possibly oil
  • salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 2-1/2 c. lowfat milk (more if desired it thinner)
  • 6 slices buttered toast or possibly biscuits

Directions

  1. Add in the tsp. of oil or possibly Crisco to warm, deep skillet along with the grnd beef. As beef begins to lose raw look, add in the minced onion, salt and pepper.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring often, till meat is completely cooked. Sprinkle flour over top and stir into meat and onion mix till totally absorbed.
  3. Slowly add in lowfat milk, stirring constantly, till thickened. Taste and adjust salt and pepper.
  4. Serve over 2 slices of toast or possibly biscuits; fried egg is a great accompaniment!
