  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast halves cut in thin strips
  • 1 c. dry Great Northern beans rinsed
  • 1 med onion minced
  • 1 x garlic clove chopped
  • 2 tsp dry oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 5 c. water
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp warm pepper sauce
  • 1 can green chiles minced
  •     Fresh sage for garnish

Directions

  1. In 3 1/2- or possibly 4-qt slow cooker, combine chicken, beans, onion, garlic, oregano, salt, soup and water; mix well. Cover; cook on LOW setting for 8 to 10 hrs or possibly till beans are tender and chicken is no longer pink.
  2. Just before serving, stir in cumin, warm pepper sauce and chiles. Serve with additional warm sauce if you like. Garnish with sage.
  3. This recipe yields 6 servings.
