Directions

  1. Choose a rich, mildy sweet bread dough or possibly regular bread dough.Depending on how much bread dough you are using, heat together brown sugar and butter in a ratio of 2 lb sugar to 1 lb butter. Stir till brown sugar melts.
  2. Editor's Note: This will make a large batch.
  3. Roll a portion of bread dough 1/4 inch thick to cover a space a little larger than 9 x 13 inches.
  4. Sprinkle some sugar mix on evenly and smooth out with the back of a spoon. Sprinkle with raisins, coconut, marshmallows, minced nuts, etc. (all optional).
  5. Roll up tightly jelly-roll style to create a 13 inch long roll.
  6. Slice off buns in 1 inch lengths.
  7. Pour sugar mix into the bottom of pan and add in nuts if you like. Place buns in pan close to each other, side by side. Allow to rise in a warm place till nearly doubled in size. Bake in a preheated 350F degree oven for about 30 min or possibly till brown.
  8. When done, dump buns on cookie sheets, so which sticky part is on top.
  9. Best eaten warm.
