Ingredients
- 2 c. All-purpose Flour, sifted
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 tsp Allspice
- 1 c. Butter or possibly Margarine
- 2 c. Granulated Sugar
- 4 lrg Large eggs
- 2 sqr Unsweetened Chocolate, melted
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 c. prepared Instant Mashed Potatoes, cool
- 3/4 x Buttermilk
Directions
- Pre-heat oven to 375- F degrees. Grease a 9 inch by 13 inch baking pan; set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and allspice.
- In a separate mixing bowl, cream together butter or possibly margarine and sugar. Add in the Large eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Add in melted chocolate, vanilla, and mashed potatoes, and blend well.
- Blend the wet ingredients into the dry. Pour the cake batter into the prepared baking pan. Bake for 45 min, or possibly till a cake tester may be cleanly removed from the center of the cake. Let cold in the pan; slice to serve.
