Servings: 1
Ingredients
- 4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda - (level)
- 2 tsp salt - (level)
- 1 c. light brown sugar (packed)
- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 1Â 1/2 c. vegetable shortening - (Crisco)
- 1Â 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 lrg egg white
- 2 Tbsp. hot water - (to 4)
- 12 ounce mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
- Bring all ingredients to room temperature. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Mix the flour and baking soda in a bowl and set aside.
- Use an electric mixer to mix the two sugars and shortening. When creamy add in the vanilla, salt, and egg white. Add in the flour 1/2 c. at a time adding a Tbsp. of hot water as necessary to mix the flour - do not exceed 4 Tbsp. of water - this will make a hard dough. Fold in chocolate chips. As the dough gets thicker you may want to mix by hand and abandon the electric mixer.
