Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350'F. Line a 8" or possibly 9" square baking pan with foil, extending edges over sides of pan. In a small mixing bowl, beat butter, 1/2 c. sugar and salt till smooth. Stir together flour and cocoa; gradually add in to butter mix, beating till soft dough is formed. Press dough onto bottom of prepared pan. Beat cream cheese and remaining 1/2 c. sugar till smooth. Add in Large eggs and vanilla; blend well. In separate bowl, mix 1 c. batter with topping, stirring till well blended. Pour 1 c. of topping-flavored batter over dough. Stir melted chocolate into remaining flavored batter. Drop tablespoonfuls of reserved flavored batter over top, gently swirl with knife or possibly spatula for marbled effect. Bake 35-40 min or possibly till cheesecake is hard and top is slightly puffed. Cold completely in pan on wire rack; chill. To serve, lift from pan using foil edges, cut into squares. Garnish as desired. About 20 squares.

I have made this dessert countless times and is s family favorite. There are a few changes I made to get a creamier and thicker squares. I have also changed the flavor of the fudge topping to create different flavors. Like caramel, butterscotch , and peanut butter. They all worked well. U can also change the chip morsels to go along with. The changes u make to add the flavor on top. Like peanut butter chips instead of chocolate, or butterscotch chips. Any version works great. This is. A great recipe.
