Directions

  1. * Sliced into coins In 4-qt saucepan, brown sausage. Remove from pan and drain off fat. Heat butter and cook mushrooms, pepper and onion till tender but not brown. Blend flour into vegetable mix. Gradually stir in lowfat milk.
  2. Cook, stirring constantly over med-low heat till mix begins to boil.
  3. Boil and stir 1 minute. Blend in 1 1/2 c. cheddar cheese, parmesan cheese and pepper till cheeses are melted and mix is smooth. Cook ziti according to package directions, and drain. Stir warm cooked ziti and sausage into vegetable cheese mix. pour into buttered 2-qt casserole. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 C. cheddar cheese.
  4. Bake covered at 350 for 30 min or possibly till warm and bubbly.
