  1. In a large bowl, cream butter, sugar and vanilla till fluffy. Add in Large eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
  2. Sift together flour, salt, cream of tartar and baking soda.
  3. Blend yogurt and lemon peel; add in to creamed mix alternately with dry ingredients. Stir till well-blended. Add in diced prune plums and nuts; mix well.
  4. Divide between 2 greased and floured 9-by-5-by-2 1/2 inch loaf pans.
  5. Bake 50 to 55 min or possibly till wooden pick inserted near center comes out clean.
  6. Note: Use real butter or possibly stick margarine. Don't substitute reduced-fat spreads; their higher water content often yields less-satisfactory results.
