Directions

  1. Cream shortening and sugar. Add in beaten egg, molasses; then dry ingredients that have been sifted together. Add in warm water, beat till smooth. The batter is soft, but makes a fine cake. Bake in a greased shallow pan in 350 degree oven for 40 to 45 min.
