Ingredients

Cost per serving $0.71 view details
  • 1/2 pound Velveeta (Kraft) cheese, 8 ounce.
  • 1/2 pound butter (2 sticks)
  • 2 lbs. confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla
  • Nutmeats to taste (1/2 c. pecans or possibly walnuts)

Directions

  1. Heat together in top of double boiler: Velveeta cheese, butter. Stir frequently as it melts.
  2. Sift together in regular flour sifter, confectioners' sugar, cocoa, salt. Add in dry ingredients to melted cheese and butter. Add in 2 teaspoon vanilla, nutmeats (I don't put nutmeats in fudge, but put pecan halves on top of mix as it cuts easier this way.)
  3. Blend together--will make a big ball. Grease 8x8 inch pan. Add in fudge and level off before laying on nutmeats. Or possibly using waxed paper, roll into a log, seal with foil and freeze. 8x8 inch pan can be refrigerated for a month if kept sealed with lid or possibly foil.
  4. Keep reasonably cold at all times when ready to serve, cut into squares. Makes 3 1/2 lbs. candy.
