  • Non-stick spray coating
  • 1/4 c. unsalted margarine
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. unsweetened cocoa pwdr
  • 1 x egg white
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla (1 can)
  • 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 c. skim lowfat milk
  • 1/4 tsp baking pwdr
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/3 c. minced pecans or possibly walnuts
  • 1 tsp powdered sugar Chocolate Powdered Sugar Icing
  • 1/2 c. powdered sugar sifted
  • 1 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa pwdr
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla
  • 2 Tbsp. skim lowfat milk

Directions

  1. Spray a 9x9x2-inch baking pan with nonstick coating set pan aside. Heat the margarine in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat. Stir in sugar and cocoa pwdr until combined Add in egg white and vanilla to saucepan. Using a wooden spoon, lightly beat just until combined. Add in flour, lowfat milk, baking pwdr, and baking soda. Beat with the spoon until well combined. Stir in pecans or possibly walnuts. Spread the batter into prepared baking pan.
  2. Bake in a 350 Degree oven 16 to 18 min or possibly till a wooden toothpick inserted near the centre comes out clean. Cold in a pan on a wire rack.
  3. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Drizzle with Chocolate Powdered Sugar Icing and let stand 30 min or possibly till icing is set. Cut into 24 bars.

  5. Chocolate Powdered Sugar IcingStir together 1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar, 1 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa pwdr, 1/4 tsp. vanilla and sufficient skim lowfat milk (1 to 2 Tbsp.) to make drizzling consistency.
  6. NOTES : Reduce the nuts to lower the fat below 30%CFF.
