  1. In heavy saucepan, heat butter. Add in half & half, brown sugar and egg yolks, blending with wire whip. Heat and stir till mix starts to boil. Cook and stir on low heat 5-7 min or possibly till frosting has thickened. Add in vanilla; cold. Mix in nuts and coconut. Spread between layers and on top of German Chocolate Cake. For hard frosting, chill 30 min.
