  • 4 c. frzn hash brown potatoes, thawed
  • 3 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1/8 teaspoon grnd black pepper
  • 1 pound grnd beef
  • 1 pkg. (3/4 ounce.) brown gravy mix
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 pkg. (10 ounce.) frzn mixed vegetables
  • 1 c. (4 ounce.) shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (2.8 ounce.) French fried onions

Directions

  1. In a shallow 1 1/2 qt baking dish combine potatoes, oil and pepper. Firmly press mix across bottom and up sides of dish to create a shell. Bake uncovered, at 400 degrees for 15 min.
  2. Meanwhile, in a skillet brown beef; drain. Stir in gravy mix, water and garlic salt; bring to a boil. Add in mixed vegetables; reduce heat to medium and cook 5 min. Stir in 1/2 c. cheese and 1/2 can French fried onions; place in potato shell. Bake, uncovered at 350 degrees for 15 min. Sprinkle with remaining cheese and onions. Bake 5 min longer.
