Servings: 6
Ingredients
- 1 lb grnd beef (85% lean minimum)
- 1 x egg
- 1/3 c. catsup or possibly barbeque sauce salt and pepper to taste
- 12 slc bacon barbeque sauce
Directions
- Mix the grnd beef, egg, catsup or possibly barbeque sauce, salt and pepper well. Shape into thick patties (approximately the same thickness as the bacon). Wrap each pattie with 2 slices of the bacon, surrounding the entire pattie, using toothpicks to hold through the cooking process. Cook on a low grill as you would a hamburger, coating each side liberally with additional barbeque sauce as they cook.
- A friend made these for my family 20 years ago and they are still a big hit. It is a "law" which they are served with a cottage cheese stuffed tomato, covered with Western brand dressing (commonly referred to as the "cow" dressing) and garlic bread
