Ingredients

1 pound hamburger
1 c. minced onion
2 - 2 1/2 teaspoon chili pwdr
46 ounce. tomato juice
1/2 c. barley
1 c. water
2 tbsp. salt
1/2 c. minced celery
1/2 teaspoon pepper

Directions

In a 3 qt sauce pan, cook and stir meat till tender. Drain fat then stir in rest of ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce hat, cover and simmer till barley is done (about 1 hour).
