  • 5 slc Hard white bread Or possibly 6 slices French bread
  • 2 Tbsp. Bacon drippings
  • 2 Tbsp. Extra virgin olive oil or possibly vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp Onion pwdr
  • 1 tsp Poppy seeds

Directions

  1. Cut crusts from 5 slices hard white bread or possibly 6 slices French bread. Dice bread into 1/2-inch cubes. In a large frying pan over medium heat, heat 2 Tbsp. bacon drippings with onion pwdr and poppy seeds. Add in bread cubes, stirring well till coated with mix. Transfer bread cubes to a rimmed baking sheet and spread in a single layer. Bake in a 300 F oven till lightly browned and crisp (25 to30 min). Cold.
