Ingredients

  • 2 x racks pork baby back ribs (about 3 1/2 pounds total)
  • 3 Tbsp. Five-Spice Mix (see recipe) Mushroom soy sauce, or possibly dark soy sauce
  • 1/4 c. fresh orange juice
  • 1/4 c. rice wine vinegar Ginger-Soy Glaze (see recipe)

Directions

  1. Rub the ribs with the Five-Spice Mix and brush lightly with mushroom soy sauce. Place the ribs on a rack over boiling water in a large pot.
  2. Cover and steam for 40 min, brushing occasionally with soy sauce.
  3. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  4. Transfer ribs to a baking dish and pour orange juice and vinegar over them.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for about 35 min, till the ribs are tender.
  6. Prepare a barbecue grill (medium-high heat) or possibly preheat the broiler. Grill or possibly broil the ribs for 5 to 7 min, till they are lightly charred.
  7. Cut between each rib and toss with the Ginger-Soy Glaze.
  8. Serves 4.
